Vale Kym, Rodrick & Jake

In Memory: Honouring Three Cherished Members of the Sarsfield Community

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the recent passing of three remarkable men who each, in their own way, helped shape and uplift the spirit of Sarsfield. As a community, we mourn the loss of Kym Williams, Roderick Teal, and Jake Davis, three true gentlemen whose presence will be greatly missed.

Kym Williams

Kym was a valued and deeply respected member of the Sarsfield community. As a producer on a local radio station and an active participant on the sub-committee for the new hall, Kym brought not only his expertise but also a quiet strength and thoughtful presence. His gentle nature and insightful questions were appreciated by all who worked alongside him. Kym's commitment to the betterment of our town, combined with his kind-hearted approach, made a lasting impact. We are sorry he will not get to see the hall he worked so hard for come to fruition. We will all miss him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Rose and his extended family during this time.

Roderick Teal

Roderick was a true character, well known and well loved across Sarsfield and beyond. A talented musician, Roderick had the honour of playing harmonica alongside Jack Thompson at the opening ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, a moment that captured both his talent and his passion. After the bushfires, Roderick gave freely his time and music, bringing smiles, laughter, and healing through his performances. His humour was infectious, his stories unforgettable, and his generosity deeply appreciated.

Our thoughts are with his family as we remember Roderick with fondness and gratitude.

Jake Davis

Jake had only recently returned to Sarsfield, but quickly became a familiar and welcome face. Living with his sister Kaitlin and nephew, Jake embraced community life with enthusiasm and warmth. He was an active member of the Brew Club, known for his wit, kindness, and community spirit. Always ready to lend a hand, Jake stepped up during our hall evacuation efforts and was a dependable and cheerful volunteer. Wherever Jake went, his loyal companion MadDog was never far behind. His presence added joy and humour to every gathering. He will be missed.

We send our sincere condolences to Kaitlin and their extended family.
